SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION

Course Description

Studies suggest anywhere between 40-70% of women and 10-20% of men have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace. Over 20,000 sexual harassment cases are brought to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) each year. According to the EEOC, the number of sexual harassment complaints filed by men has more than doubled in recent years.

In Fiscal Year 2007, EEOC received 27,112 charges alleging harassment as an issue. The EEOC resolved 22,572 charges and recovered $65.6 million in monetary benefits for charging parties and other aggrieved individuals (not including monetary benefits obtained through litigation).

Today's workplace provides many challenges for supervisors, business owners and employees. This 3-hour class focuses on identifying the issues, concerns and measures of prevention associated with this complex issue. The class meets or exceeds the training requirements for employers who regularly employ or receive services of 50 or more persons as defined by California Law AB1825 (Government Code, Section 12950.1).

At the end of this class you will:
