Course: BLENDED FAMILY

Course Description

Yours, mine or ours? ... This 1/2-day class explores the stress and pressures created by the reality of today's blended family, or "step-family", where new families are created or blended together, each from different beginnings.

The class teaches the importance of building relationships between parents, children and step-parents. It's a "must do" for anyone living and dealing with the challenges of two or more families coming together ... the "Brady Bunch" it isn't, as you probably know!

At the end of this class, you will know:

  • How to deal with the shock of a new "family"

  • The challenges to role definitions

  • How to establish values and standards

  • How to recognize "games" and "warfare"

  • The difference between step-Dads, Moms, and kids and REAL parents

  • How to build effective communications

  • How to maintain the marriage along the way
