Course: ADMIN ASSISTANT and SUPPORT PERSONNEL CERTIFICATE

Course Description

This 5-class series is designed to teach administrative support personnel the skills to maximize effectiveness in serving department or administrative staff needs. It is an excellent class for anyone currently in an administrative support position, or moving to such a position.

Subjects include (selected by semester):

  • Say It In Writing - Business Writing

  • Be a Leader - Leadership Can Be Learned

  • Customer Service Fundamentals

  • Managing Interruptions to Increase Productivity

  • Problem Solving - Tips and Techniques

  • Dealing With Negativity in the Workplace

At the end of this course, you will know how to:

  • Work collaboratively with others

  • Respond to internal/external customer needs

  • Present information to others

  • Manage difficult customers

  • The five sources of leadership power

  • Train others to support your most productive pattern

  • Adapt to a changing work environment

  • Organize and manage short and long-term projects

  • Identify problems and solutions quickly

  • Make decisions in a timely manner

  • Make the best use of your valuable time

  • Resolve conflicts in a beneficial manner to all parties
