STRESS MANAGEMENT

Course Description

Stress is a part of our every-day lives. Some stress is a good thing, keeping us focused and sharp. However, too much of the wrong kinds of stress can be damaging, both mentally and physically.

This 1/2-day class is designed to educate the student about stress, stressors and various reactions to stress. The class provides health promoting interventions, and responses necessary to balance professional and personal demands to maintain satisfaction in life. Participants will learn about personal and professional support systems and how to “unclutter” their lives.

At the end of this class, you will be able to:

  • Define and identify stress

  • Understand the difference between managing and controlling stress

  • Recognize the types of stress and the reactions to it

  • Apply coping skills

  • Apply various reactions and avoidance skills
